Prayer to Sachiel, the Angel of Prosperity

I’m in the process of learning new video software, and have been meaning to start uploading to my YouTube channel again. So I made a video around a prayer I recorded last January.

The prayer to “Sachiel, the Angel of Prosperity” found in My New Everyday Prayer Book, page 477.

Holy Sachiel the Archangel, one of the seven standing before the throne of God, I come before you seeking your intercession. From the throne you dispense God’s gifts upon those who ask in faith and without fear. Your name means “Righteousness of God,” and by the righteousness of God the Son and the Immaculate Conception of His Holy Mother, our Queen, I come before you at this moment in time and this location in space. I come before you that all droughts in my life be ended, all obstacles repulsing Actual Grace be removed, and a steady rain of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual prosperity come into my life, in the forms I know, recognize, and enjoy.

Help me develop my own righteousness that these obstacles shall be overcome, and help my prosperity be a force for good in the lives of others. For as I prosper, let those around me be moved to their own prosperity by seeing your example. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

The prayer itself is my own composition, written for the original Everyday Prayer Book which has since been discontinued. The prayer evokes St. Sachiel through his position among the Seven Angels who stand before the throne (see Tobias 12:15), through the meaning of his name “righteousness of God,” and through the rigtheousness of Christ and the Immaculate Conception and Queenship of Mary. Sachiel is then asked to remove lack and roadblocks in one’s life, and replace these with “a steady rain of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual prosperity … in the forms I know, recognize, and enjoy.”

Lastly, the pray-er seeks to become an example for others, pointing observers toward the work of St. Sachiel thanks to the success manifested in the pray-er’s life.

The prayer thus creates a complete circle. Like all solid prayers, it is structured on the five-fold pattern used in the ancient liturgical Collects: address, rationale, petition, benefit, and termination. In this wise the Early Church provides us with a guide for creating our own effective prayers.

About Agostino

Originally from Queens, N.Y., and having grown up in Dayton, OH, Agostino Taumaturgo is a unique figure. He is the product of the unlikely combination of coming from a Traditional Roman Catholic background and a spirituality-friendly home. It was in this home that Agostino first learned the basics of meditation, prayer, and spiritual working. In time Agostino completed his theology studies and was ordained to the priesthood and was later consecrated a bishop. He has since left the Traditional movement and brings this knowledge to the “outside world” through his teaching and writing, discussing spiritual issues and practical matters through the lens of traditional Christian theology.
