Litany of the Holy Angels

angel987

Angel of God, my Guardian Dear, to whom His love commits me here: Ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

I composed this litany back in 1999 for either private or group recitation, and have used it to great effect. It’s based on the Litany of the Saints and can be used prior to saying the Rosary, or personal prayer, candle rituals, group devotion, or any exercise directed toward manifesting your intentions.

The parts in italics are responses said by those assisting you. If you’re praying privately, then you say all these yourself.

When using this litany magically, say the name of the Archangel who presides over your intentions where the Prayer at the end says “N.” When using as an act of devotion, don’t include any Archangel’s name when you say the final prayer.

About Agostino

Originally from Queens, N.Y., and having grown up in Dayton, OH, Agostino Taumaturgo is a unique figure. He is the product of the unlikely combination of coming from a Traditional Roman Catholic background and a spirituality-friendly home. It was in this home that Agostino first learned the basics of meditation, prayer, and spiritual working. In time Agostino completed his theology studies and was ordained to the priesthood and was later consecrated a bishop. He has since left the Traditional movement and brings this knowledge to the “outside world” through his teaching and writing, discussing spiritual issues and practical matters through the lens of traditional Christian theology.

      Hello Peter!

Thank you for the compliment and the link to your page. I’m presently reading your post about Templar survival, and it’s quite a well-researched read. You have some good material on your blog, and I look forward to reading it all.

      Thanks Again,
      Agostino

Thank you Agostino. I am just quoting what our Grand Master Prince Matthew was writing on the offical blog.http://www.knightstemplarorder.org/ I send you a internal document i may share with you, the survival of an old brotherhood, that happends to have emerged into a sufi-order in Egypt. (This is for your eyes only, until it is made official.) I hope it means something for you. Are you familiar with the Course in Miracles? I studied this message for some years in Endeavor Academy in Wisconsin. Christianity of tomorrow may include creation into the Trinity, as part of the Son, or Adam Kadmon, so to speak. God created -following this path of thinking – everything as part of himself. This can even be shown in the schripture, like in the gospel of John. The sufis say (I was member of the Nimatulahi for some years) that only God exists. We than would be part of him, not in flesh or as an ego but in spirit. But we would never be our own creators, what humans like to be so much. I like your approach to theology. Sincerely yours, Peter.

Where would you state your specific intention or petition in this litany?

Hello again, TigerJin! Apologies for the delay in responding.
In my own use, I don’t specify the intention in the litany itself; rather I use it as a sort of “preface” right after the Invocatio Nominis Domini (and/or Ave Maria Portarum where applicable), and right before the rest of the rite where the intention finds itself spelled out. You could rewrite the collect at the end to reflect your intentions at any particular time though, or insert a phrase into it to reflect your intention.
